The Redskins elected to put their first-round pick of the 2019 draft in during the second quarter of Sunday’s game, as they trailed 14-0 in New York.
Keenum completed 6 of 11 passes for 37 yards, no touchdowns and one interception before he was benched.
Haskins was selected number 15 overall in April. It appeared to be a safe move for Washington after starting quarterback Alex Smith was sidelined indefinitely with a leg injury last November.
Backup Colt McCoy went down with a broken leg shortly after Smith’s injury, leaving Mark Sanchez as their only quarterback.
The team acquired Keenum, who started in the Redskins’ first four games, in a trade with the Denver Broncos during the offseason.
