To say this is a both ambitious and awesome, would be to put it lightly.
If you’re gamer and follow online game-related news, you’ve no doubt heard of EVE Online, but you’ve probably not heard of its First person shooter Hybrid spin-off titled DUST 514. Here is the trailer:

DUST 514 will feature the same races and factions as EVE, and will allow you to fight with both small arms and vehicles in the never-ending conflicts between them. You will also be able to fight as a mercenary for the player-run Corporations of EVE and take and hold planets. While the next EVE expansion - which will introduce planetary interaction - won’t require DUST players in seizing planets and their resources, those who do make use of mercenaries from DUST will find the process much easier.
As for the gameplay itself, DUST will play along the lines of the Battlefield series, focused on control points, with squad leaders and an overseeing commander. Objectives will vary, with destruction of the enemy command center being a constant objective that can be accomplished. Commanders will be able to call down ground installations such as gun emplacements and bunkers which double as spawn points, and players themselves will have the ability to call down vehicles.
Like EVE vehicles and weapons, DUST will have module slots for customization and upgrades. Better items will be unlocked through achievements rather than levelling or skillpoints. In addition to the capture of player-owned planets from EVE, DUST will feature a quickplay option for those who just wish to get into the action. The best part of all is that DUST 514 will be free to play. Instead, it will feature a micro-transaction market to generate revenue.
