If these price cuts become global it could easily act as a boost in sales for the two DS models. Additionally, this could be a sign of something to come over the horizon. Maybe an E3 announcement is upcoming for the much talked about Nintendo 3DS, releasing the models in different colors (which Nintendo is known for), or something else portable related to be revealed at E3. It would make sense for the Lite model to receive a drop in price because it has been on the market for quite some time now, but the DSi is still fairly new. Either way all will be answered in one week.
If there is any chance that you can’t wait to get in on these deals and you don’t reside in Europe nor Japan, there is always Play-Asia.com which allows you to import consoles from Japan. Although it will likely balance out once shipping cost are calculated in.
